The Manager/Sr Manager, Email Marketing Operations will effectively act as the enterprise subject matter expert in the evolving email marketing channel, project managing campaigns through product manager, ad agency, and internal IT checkpoints. This is a hands-on role, expected to manage commercial calendar, creative assets, target list compliance, and analytics through the approved distribution partners and internal MAP system. He/She will have responsibility for ensuring email marketing requirements are met prior to deployment. This role will reside on the centralized Commercial Operations team, reporting to the Sr. Director, Marketing Operations.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Marketing, Advertising Agencies and IT to ensure all mandatories are met in regards to GDPR, CAN SPAM, customer preferences, and data warehouse integration, prior to deployment.
  • Support a high volume of campaigns from across the US product portfolio.
  • Maintain and optimize the value of our databases, managing list hygiene, engagement and compliance for internal records and external lists
  • Marketing Automation Platform (MAP) business lead
    • Ensure automated solutions meet business and compliance requirements
    • Keep system validation current in accordance with 21CFR requirements
  • Define process, best practices, and write commercial play book related to email marketing compliance
  • Develop and deliver training curriculum for key end-user groups (e.g. marketing, external agencies, IT)
  • Ensure historical records are aligned with audit trail accountability


  • 3+ years email campaign & database management
  • Healthcare acumen or CPG with interest in healthcare
  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience

Preferred Competencies: 

  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter, who can work independently, but is also a team player, providing support to meet the business needs. This candidate will be an effective communicator with the ability to speak confidently, and must be organized and logical while having the flexibility to change direction.
  • Proven track record of managing successful commercial email programs in healthcare or CPG
  • Good understanding of regulatory, legal and compliance requirements for pharmaceutical marketing
  • Strong consultative skills; able to position oneself as a trusted resource
  • Strong analytical skills including designing work flows and procedures.
  • Experience prioritizing effectively in high-volume / high-demand situations
  • Apply emerging technology when relevant to the business
